ACTION ABSORBS ANXIETY!!

RESISTANCE!

Wake UP News!

Critical Information for No Kings Protest of Sonoma Valley

Organized by Wake UP Sonoma and with the support of Indivisible

June 14 11:00 - 1:00

PEOPLE SEEM TO STILL THINK THAT THERE IS A PROTEST IN THE PLAZA. WE DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO THE PLAZA.

**3 LOCATIONS!! SONOMA VALLEY IS STANDING STRONG IN PROTEST!!!

Line the sidewalk on both sides only if there are safe sidewalks - Stay on sidewalks - Use Crosswalks, no blocking access. Getting into the street could create a situation where the streets would need to be closed off for safety reasons. We don't want that, because we want passing traffic to see us to maximize our visibility!!

  1. Broadway up and down (PLAZA not available )

  2. Springs Plaza - along Hwy 12 North and South

  3. Maxwell Park area - along Hwy 12 North and South directions

WHY 3 LOCATIONS? WHY NOT THE PLAZA?

Native Sons is having their event in the Plaza that day. When we learned we didn't have access to the Plaza, or any other central gathering place, we pivoted to see this as an advantage and to make this protest visible through the center of Sonoma Valley as well as the City of Sonoma. Lines of people covering Hwy 12 throughout the Valley will be an incredible presence and visual impact. This is similar to what is going on in Santa Rosa. Also, if we get a bigger number of attendees then last time, we won’t be able to safely accommodate the crowd in one location.

We want to also practice what we preach and be inclusive of the Springs and Maxwell areas which are too often left out of these types of actions. The message is inclusiveness. Many of our immigrant residents live in the unincorporated area, and we want to send them the message that we stand with them.

WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO BRING MUTUAL AID FOR HOMELESS ACTION SONOMA. REQUESTED SUPPLIES ARE: Gently used or new towels, toiletries kits (shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, combs, soap, etc) for any gender.
