Introducing

“THE RESISTOR”

In Poland in the 1980s, during the period of martial law, individuals used these small electronic resistors as a symbolic form of protest. These resistors, often attached to wire and worn as necklaces at the time, served as a subtle way to express solidarity with the banned “Solidarity Movement.” This trade union movement, which had been banned, advocated for workers’ rights. At the time, there was an official Solidarity button which symbolized the movement, and therefore, the button was also banned.

These resistors, which are radio parts, were used as a secretive way to display resistance and identify one another as part of the Solidarity Movement in place of the button.

Today, we invite you to join the resistance movement by wearing one of these pins as a symbol that you are resisting fascism, fighting for democracy, and that you stand for personal freedoms and justice for all. We invite you to get involved in the resistance movement in one or more of the following ways.
